About this initiative
Resilient & Ready Anne Arundel is a strategic regional initiative that identifies high-impact resilience projects and connects them to the funding and institutional pathways needed to advance implementation. It builds a comprehensive, replicable framework by forging partnerships across public, private, and community stakeholders to advance mutually beneficial priorities, with an intentional focus on cross-jurisdictional coordination, equity, and environmental justice to ensure resilience investments reach every corner of the region. The result is a Portfolio of Projects that prioritizes high-impact, cost-effective opportunities and, where possible, those that generate income and long-term financial sustainability for the Resilience Authority and the jurisdictions it serves.
Portfolio summary
Anne Arundel County's resilience portfolio includes 16 projects focused on protecting coastlines, reducing flood risk, and restoring natural habitats and waterways. Most projects are high priority, with 10 currently underway and 4 in the early planning stages. To support this work, the County is tracking 31 funding sources, 5 of which are ready to pursue in the near term.
